Yin

This class focuses on the opening of the connective tissues surrounding the joints increasing mobility through passive postures on the floor. Not to be confused with a restorative style, this class is not relaxing but instead challenges the idea of finding peace and ease in the discomfort that potentially arises as you hold poses from 3 to even 10 minutes at a time. Yin Yoga is the gateway to a meditative practice as you find peace in the stillness.

VinYin

(previously Yin+Yang) This is a half Vinyasa and half Yin yoga class. Start off heating up the body with sun salutations and a sequence of standing poses that are dynamic & active followed by passive postures usually seated or reclined held for longer periods of time (3-5 minutes) to allow for deep opening of the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and spine. This is a blend of two styles of yoga that will bring you the balance that you need. Recommended to have vinyasa flow experience.

Breath Work + Meditation

In this class you can expect to explore equal parts of movement, breath work and meditation. The eight limbs of Yoga offer us a roadmap for our practice. In this roadmap, asana (movement) serves the purpose of preparing the body for deeper aspects of this ancient practice, such as seated meditation. Each week we will begin by preparing the body with mellow movement so that we can comfortably sit for a time of intentional pranayama (breath work), and then ending with a time of dhyana (meditation).

Please bring at least 2 blankets. Other helpful props: bolster, two blocks.
